The Morristown Alliance for Culture and Commerce – MACC was created in 1999 as a result of the ‘ Morristown Our Town’ community forum. This volunteer-based partnership includes area residents, business people and community members who are interested in preserving, restoring and revitalizing Morristown.
MACC committees meet regularly to organize community events, research project funding and coordinate marketing efforts. Everyone is welcome at meetings, and volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks. Contact Heather Sargent for more information at 802-888-3048.
Mission ... MACC’s mission is “to help ensure a strong and viable downtown, integrated with the north-end
commercial district and the riverfront, that serves the community by building upon our historic past, recognizing
our existing assets and utilizing local knowledge, skills and resources.”

Design Committee Purpose: To provide leadership, cooperation, and community education to support the enhancement of the Morristown/Morrisville business district through design resources, streetscape
enhancement and historic preservation. Role of Committee: To support development of culture and
commerce in Morristown/Morrisville by maintaining and developing a cohesive, historically sensitive, and aesthetically pleasing appearance for our business district.
Organization Committee-Chair Person – Heather Sargent – 888-3048 Purpose: To be the regional
center for culture and commerce by maintaining and developing a cohesive and aesthetic appearance for our business district. Role of the Committee: To coordinate projects that impact the downtown Morrisville/Morristown area by integrating schedules, budgets, volunteer efforts and to act as a liaison among community, municipal and regional organizations. To oversee funding and staffing of the Morristown Alliance for Culture and Commerce.
Promotions Committee-Chair Person – Jessica Strong - 888-1410 - Purpose: To be the regional center for culture and commerce by ensuring effective and consistent preservation of community assets. Role of Committee: To celebrate community spirit and facilitate, organize, and market Morristown through events, activities and promotional media.
Economic Restructuring Committee-Chair Person - Stephen Bousquet - 888-0156 – Purpose and
role of Committee: To facilitate and develop Morristown/Morrisville as the regional center for culture and commerce by developing a comprehensive program to enhance and encourage business growth in the
town’s commercial districts.
